Description: Cinder is back and trying to break out of prison―even though she'll be the Commonwealth's most wanted fugitive if she does―in this second installment from Marissa Meyer.
Halfway around the world, Scarlet Benoit's grandmother is missing. It turns out there are many things Scarlet doesn't know about her grandmother, or the grave danger she has lived in her whole life. When Scarlet encounters Wolf, a street fighter who may have information as to her grandmother's whereabouts, she is loath to trust this stranger, but is inexplicably drawn to him, and he to her. As Scarlet and Wolf unravel one mystery, they encounter another when they meet Cinder. Now, all of them must stay one step ahead of the vicious Lunar Queen Levana.~
~*~ Spoilers ahead! ~*~
So after I read Cinder, I was a tad leery of this book because I found Cinder a tad slow. I was worried that I would have issues with the rest of the series. Boy was I proven wrong! I've never been so glad to be wrong about a book before. Scarlet is high up on my favorite books list. And it is my top book of 2016 so far.
Scarlet our main character is the personification  of Red Riding Hood. And this is one of my favorite versions of this story. Scarlet is a total bad ass and when her Grandma goes missing she's on the case!  When she meets Wolf. She's leery of him and for good reasons. But when he offers to help her find her Grandma how can she say no?
Wolf is mysterious strong and oh so yummy. He is high up on my list for favorite book boyfriend. He does everything he can to help and protect Scarlet. Of course he has a deep secret. And I for one can say I never saw it coming.  Finding out he was in fact a part of the Lunar Army had me staring at the page for several long moments. I was so afraid of what was going to happen between him and Scarlet.
I never thought of Red being a BA character, but she pulled it off. Her skills with electronics and just surviving in general amaze me.
When she learns secrets that could change all of Lunar she has to hope she can keep those secrets safe.  When she finds out that her Grandmother not only helped save Cinder the princess of Lunar. But she hid her for a long while until they could place her somewhere safe. Her Grandma was one of my favorite characters and I will miss her.
Marissa Meyer knows how to write twists and turns. She knows how to grab her reader and shout "Come on an adventure with me!"
I love her writing and I am so excited to read the rest of this series. It has hit a home in my heart and its a world I will revisit. I am so excited for Marissa's other books coming out soon.
All in all this book is so worth the read. I highly recommend it.

Inevitable Ascension book review

Inevitable Ascension
By: V.K. McAllister
236 pages
3 out of 5 stars

Description:
The innocent never waver from doing what’s right, even if it means drowning the world in fire.

Violina had been burned and betrayed by mankind ever since she had sprung into existence. They named her a heretic and condemned her to a pit to live and die in agony. Though she sat stranded, starved and bloodied, she would not submit. Violina, the girl who had been mocked and hunted for rejecting the warped ideals of artificial authority, would lay down her own law.

Inevitable Ascension — A rapid-fire action/adventure novel packed with wit, humor and a host of twists that will literally make your brain explode! Actually, not literally. Otherwise that would be really gross.

I really wish I could have given this book more stars, but I had a hard time getting into it. It took me a few tries to finish it. I don't normally read SiFi but since Cinder I wanted to try more. And this book had an amazing premise but I just didn't feel it.

Our two main characters Violina and Lux are basically bounty hunters. We start off with them breaking into a museum type place stealing a creature. They had gotten jipped in their payment. So they were just getting their reward. I loved this scene. It was a fun adventure to go on.

I loved that it included time travel which reminded me a lot of Doctor Who. Which is one of my favorite shows.
The fact that a husband and wife duo wrote this book made me love it.

I did enjoy this book, and I hope to re read it again. And maybe then I will be deeper into the SiFi world and will appreciate this book as it should be.

Description: Ilyanna Sicliano's never had an easy life. Everything from school to her career she's encountered major problems, until one day she gets a huge break. Leaving the life she knew and despised behind her in Tennessee, she takes a risk for a new job in Boston.

Braydon O'Donnell has it all, the perfect accounting business and the best of friends. Bachelor life's been the way for Braydon since college. But when he hires Ilyanna to be his new personal assistant as a favor to a college buddy, he begins to second guess himself.

Could this be the life changing break for her? As sparks fly he begins to wonder if he's going to be able to keep it strictly professional.

18+ sexual content

This book was a fun ride. I started it and I was instantly hooked on the characters. Ily soon became one of my favorite female characters. She is spunky and fun. She's been hurt in the past, we are left with a mystery but I enjoyed that. Then we meet Braydon. And hello yummy book boyfriend! He too has been hurt and his walls are up. needless to say I wanted to bring down his walls.
Ily is looking for a job after her big move with her best friend. And who happens to have a job for her? Braydon of course. They both social media stalk each other and are instantly hooked on each other. The heat and sparks start to fly.
Braydon tries to fight it, he doesn't want to get hurt again and he is afraid of making things awkward.
That doesn't sit well with Ily. She decides that if he wants to play games so will she. And so comes the game of who will cave to the sexual tension first.
Dressing up and flirting made it so much fun.
When they finally cave, they go at it hot and heavy quickly. And I loved it! It was just the right amount of dirty to keep me entertained.
The romance in this book made me so giddy. I loved how the characters meshed.
The book its self was a quick paced book, a summer read. This is a book to grab over the weekend and stay hidden until you have taken in every dirty moment.
Tiffany is an amazing writer and an Indie one that should be followed.

Cinder Book Review

Cinder
By Marissa Meyer
Pages: 448
Book 1 of the Lunar Chronicles.
3 out of 5 stars
Buy it here: Amazon

Description
Humans and androids crowd the raucous streets of New Beijing. A deadly plague ravages the population. From space, a ruthless lunar people watch, waiting to make their move. No one knows that Earth's fate hinges on one girl. . . .
Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg. She's a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister's illness. But when her life becomes intertwined with the handsome Prince Kai's, she suddenly finds herself at the center of an intergalactic struggle, and a forbidden attraction. Caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal, she must uncover secrets about her past in order to protect her world's future.

So I didn't love this book but I didn't hate it either. This is the first real SiFi book I've read. It was an interesting twist on Cinderella.  Our main character Cinder is a cyborg and she of course has the evil step mother and step sisters. She got  lucky and has one nice step sister. Sadly that doesn't last long.
The main love interest is of course the Prince. His name is Kai. I absolutely adored him! I wish there had been more on the romance side of these characters. But I feel like it may pick up the rest of the series.
I found this book to have a really slow start. It took me forever to get into it. Around the middle of the book it actually started to pick up which I'm glad it did. There were a lot of similarities to the original story. There were a few moments I kept waiting to happen that didn't but that's okay. There were a few twists and I managed to guess the big one. But I am glad I did because it made the ending better. I really like how this book turned out. I did find that it ended on a major cliffhanger. When I got to the end I was ready to jump right into Scarlet.
I am really excited to read the rest of this series and see the other twist and turns this book will take.

The dreaded reading slump!

Hey guys!
So I'm so sorry I haven't done a review in ages!! I know I'm horrible. So here's the deal. I've hit a reading slump! I can't seem to focus on books which is the worst! I hate it! So what I'm going to try and do this week is go through my kindle and find some of the books I have read over the past few years and start reviewing those!

I may also start doing some just bookish blogging stuff! Because why not. I hate leaving this page empty for so long.

So lets see question time!!!

What do you do when you're in a reading slump?

For me the last few weeks I have been coloring a lot! I love to color so when I can't read you will find me coloring.

So what do you do???

So this is a side bar from my normal reviews, but I really want to share what this weekend was like for me.

Emerald City Author Event was a one day convention where I got to meet a TON of Authors. And let me just say this right now I can't wait for next year!
This was one of the best days of my life. I am so thankful for being able to go to this. I had a blast. Emma and I were fan girling everywhere!

I walked in with four books to have signed and walked back out with those and eleven new ones.

There were so many authors that at first I felt a tad overwhelmed but I soon got into the groove of things.
My first stop was JA Huss because she was kind enough to give out one free copy of one of her books. And I read her book 18 a while ago so I knew I liked her work.JA Huss I can not wait to read her new book I got.

The next big line I waited in was Tillie Cole and I LOVE HER! She is so sweet and her love for Harry Potter made me love her even more. I told her about my book House on the Hill and shes going to check it out which was amazing!  Tillie Cole

I got to meet so many amazing Authors. Ilsa Madeen-Mills, Nichole Williams *LOVE HER*, K.A.Tucker, Karina Halle, Rachel Higginson, Nicole Jacquelyn, Amy A,. Bartol *Who also wants to look at my book* LH, Cosway, Callie Hart, and Kristen Proby.
These woman are all so amazing and sweet.

The highlight of my day was Anne Eliot. She is such a kind and sweet Author. She gave me two books which I am planning to read and review soon. She is going to check out Emma and my Booktube channel so I am really excited!  Check her out! Anne Eliot

You can't catch me. Book review

You can't catch me

Description: My body suuuucks. After lounging around on my butt all summer (okay, so maybe that was my bad), this body decided to become something completely foreign. So now I’m trying to make the track team and I feel like I’m a baby learning to walk again.

A couple pounds wouldn’t have been so bad. Work those off, run like a mad woman, no problem, yeah? But no. I’ve also developed a couple of things that I definitely didn’t have before. And now my guy friends are all sitting in a pool of drool as they not-so-subtly stare at my chest.

Combine all that drama with the fact that the new track coach is getting major flack for being a little chunky, and all I’m trying to do is convince the team that I’m not running slower because of her coaching style.

Oh, and did I mention that I’m totally falling face-first in “like” with some guy I met in a cemetery? And no one understands it just because he’s also a little chunky. But he’s also adorable and wonderfully weird and I don’t care what they say, his look sure does it for me.

But… I don’t know… how can I be in “like” with someone, when I have no clue how to like myself anymore?

Cassie Mae is one of my all time favorite Authors. She writes the best romance. And this book was no different. Ginger Silverman is the MC of our book and I love her! She is coming into her life and her body has changed and grown over the summer. She suddenly has Sharpies and she doesn't know how to handle them. (Read this book you must understand the Sharpies!)
As a runner they don't exactly go with her body type. As a girl with my own set of Sharpies I understand her pain.
Everyday she visits the grave of her baby sister and in the graveyard is where she meet the amazing adorbz Oliver!  I love this boy! Seriously I have never wanted a post it note so bad in my entire life. (I'm telling you READ this book!)
She falls first for his handwriting because they past Post its. "Just picturing his handwriting has my internal zookeepers sticking their hands out to keep the animals at bay." I loved this line because I know what its  like to fall for someones handwriting.  Believe me its possible!
As Ginger goes she ends up getting fully embarrassed thanks to viral bullying she has to figure out how to deal with it. And she doesn't confide in anyone and this made me want to hug her. I loved when her Aunt helped her out with this.

"Oliver says he likes me more and more every time he sees me. But how? When every time I get a look at myself, I like me less an less?" This line hit me close to home. I loved that Ginger has all of my insecurities. I related to her on so many levels. This line reminds me of my own relationship with my guy so it made me go awwww.

All in all this book had me laughing and crying. Gingers love for Disney songs made me smile because this is a very special skill set.. One I'm proud of having! Cassie knows how to take all of your feelings on an adventure and I love her for that. She makes guys you fall in love with.. And girls you can relate too. Shes real in her work and her heart shows through.

This book is one that I think every woman out there needs to read. Because we could all learn to love ourselves a little bit more.
