Description:
After serving out a year of hard labor in the salt mines of Endovier for her crimes, 18-year-old assassin Celaena Sardothien is dragged before the Crown Prince. Prince Dorian offers her her freedom on one condition: she must act as his champion in a competition to find a new royal assassin.

Her opponents are men-thieves and assassins and warriors from across the empire, each sponsored by a member of the king's council. If she beats her opponents in a series of eliminations, she'll serve the kingdom for four years and then be granted her freedom. Celaena finds her training sessions with the captain of the guard, Westfall, challenging and exhilirating. But she's bored stiff by court life. Things get a little more interesting when the prince starts to show interest in her... but it's the gruff Captain Westfall who seems to understand her best.

Then one of the other contestants turns up dead... quickly followed by another. Can Celaena figure out who the killer is before she becomes a victim? As the young assassin investigates, her search leads her to discover a greater destiny than she could possibly have imagined

Throne of Glass follow Celaena Sardothien she is known as Adarlan's Assassin  she is 22 and female. This leads a lot of people to under estimate her. She starts of in the mines of Endovier until the Crown Prince Dorian frees her. She is a part of a competition. She isn't allowed to use her real name so she soon becomes know as Lillian Gordaina. She is basicly imprisoned inside the Glass Palace. Her room is constantly guarded and she is watched at all times. Until one night she notices the tapestry on the wall is moving. She nears it and throws herself against the wall and she is greeted with a trap door. As she starts to follow the secret passages below, she knows something isn't right. She finds a way of escaping but knows full well it isn't the time.

Later that night after she has fallen asleep she is awoken but the ghost of the first queen of Adarlan. Who tells her that there is evil in the castle and she must become the Kings Assassin. Now this doesn't seem like a hard task. The other competitors are simple for her, the only one who could stand in her way is the dukes champion. Cain.
He is a brute and I found him quiet annoying.
Celaena begins her training under the captain of the guard Chaol Westfall. (My ship is hands down Celaena and Chaol.)

Chaol and Dorian are best friends and have been since childhood. This makes for a very fun dynamic in this love triangle.
Nehemia Ytger is the Princess of Eyllwe, she soon becomes Celaena's friend and adversary. I really feel if they hadn't become friends she may have left the castle sooner.
As the competition goes on the champions start dying off one by one. The evil in the castle becomes clearer to Celaena *not quick enough though! I knew something was up with a few of the characters before she did!* She doesn't know just how much danger she is in but she has grown to care for these other characters and will do anything to help them. Even if it means putting her own life in danger.

Celaena is a badass character and I love her more than any other character currently. I have fallen head over heals for this series. The covers are epic, the characters are beautiful. I love the weapons she fights with.
This book is a high fantasy and its one I'm so happy to be diving into.  The world that Sarah J. Maas has created is one I'm really excited to be a part of. This book ended beautifully. You know that there is more but it doesn't leave us with a cliffhanger which I am so thankful for.
So over all I really recommend this book.
